Blogging is an art, mixed with science, when done at its best. It requires time and effort but can deliver amazing results and real value for you, too.

So, don’t constantly thing about about those ‘guaranteed systems’ and affiliate ‘get rich quick’ networks that you’re constantly bombarded with. Honestly, do it properly and genuinely – you’ll end up with something worthwhile.

1. You Know Your Abilities – Set Realistic Daily or Weekly Targets

There are many smaller steps that you will need to take to get the ball rolling before you hit the big time. Don’t simply set the goal and work vaguely towards it. If your ultimate goal is to earn $400K from your blog in 2012 then decide what you will need to on a regular basis to make that happen. You need to understand your goals and work towards them decisively.

It’s very easy, very very easy, to become tired and overwhelmed. And to become disconsolate, too. This is especially true when there are huge mountains to clamber over and deep rivers to swim through – well, it certainly seems that way.

Remember: you can eat an elephant, one bite at a time.

You’ll get to the mountains soon enough. Beforehand, stride over and through the hills and the valleys. Do you have a target of 500 posts for the year? Good enough, set that goal and start striving towards a weekly target. Which becomes a monthly target. Which becomes a yearly target.

2. Grasp, Always, The Opportunity To Help Others in the Blogosphere

To be a good blogger involves a lot of community building. As in life, when you have a successful and happy community, there isn’t usually a thought of selfishness or deadly competition. Without a successful community supporting your blog, then you can probably give up on blogging.

Just do something else if you don’t like the community vibe.

True community building activities will require that you make yourself available to offer guidance and assistance to other aspiring bloggers who may not have a clue. Don’t think of them as competition but as a free gift on your road to success. Use each opportunity to build solid relationships and promote yourself as a blogger.

Honestly, we don’t mean this in a superficial way, just build your blogging community.

3. Consider The Best Your Blog Can Be – And Focus On That

In life, if something doesn’t exist within your imagination then most likely it will never become a reality.

What this isn’t about is having random dreams and wishes day in, day out, but more like specific goals that you want to achieve for yourself and your blog. And, if relevant, your business.

Set out and stick to a clear mental picture of what your visitor statistics will look like, begin to feel the life you will be living from your blog’s income, anticipate the freedom you will have through living the internet lifestyle and experience the happiness and joy in the present knowing that your dream IS becoming a reality daily.

Envision the certainty that is your success daily and it will be drawn closer to you. In fact, you’ll feel it getting closer. You’ll smell it. Taste it.

4. TAKE ACTION – Don’t Wait

If you have a writing idea, just write it, if you would like to implement a new writing style or design, just get it done. Don’t over-engineer ideas in your mind as you’ll definitely over-complicate them and in fact de-value them.

If you delay and complain about, moan and feel resentful about, necessary tasks multiplies to 100 more and the more time it will take to achieve your success. Not to mention that this is an excellent way to develop the dreaded writer’s block. So for today and the days to come, Just Do It and Make It Happen! You have more to gain than lose. If you don’t try – what have you got.

Not to try is to achieve real failure. A dream is not what you have in your head at night, it’s what actually keeps you awake and out of bed.

Good luck. Most of all, enjoy it.

Been too busy taking care of your blog? Have someone write a blog for you. There are hundreds if not thousands of other bloggers or would-be writers willing to be your guest blog for you. How do you get a guest blogger? Glad you asked! Read further.

There were famous sayings in the world of entrepreneurs and business people. Those famous sayings were, “OPM” and “OPT”. What they stand for is “Other People’s Money” for “OPM” and “Other People’s Time” for “OPT”. The concept was wildly used in every business, every field, and every general aspect in life. It can also be used in blogging as well. Sometimes people do not have the time to blog daily or once in awhile.

Or even if they had writer’s block they still have a way to keep their blog lively and making sure that they’re readers is thoroughly impressed with your work. Now you can’t really use OPM for blogging, unless you want to make an investment to have your blog getting its own domain name. But using OPT for blogging is what you need. Been too busy taking care of your blog? Have someone write a blog for you. There are hundreds if not thousands of other bloggers or would-be writers willing to be your guest blog for you. How do you get a guest blogger? Glad you asked! Read further.

A guest blogger tends to be a job position from other bloggers, professional and novices alike. Anyone who had their reputation as a problogger can be used to help promote their blogsite with yours, just by submitting a blog article to your blog. And if anyone likes the guest bloggers work, visitors or readers would then find his/her blog and read their material. That is a disadvantage due to that the guest blogger is diversifying the traffic generated from your blog to his/her blogsite. But of course each and every one of us has to be wary if we let any guest blogger blog on our blogsite at their freewill.

But just because we let them blog, doesn’t mean they have full rights. Blogger.com has made a function where they can have guest bloggers to write a post blog on others and be submitted a draft first before the original blogger or author of the blogsite can actually accept his/her work before publishing. This way you can ensure that there is quality in your blogsite and traffic is not diversified. However, you can go in terms and agreement for traffic exchange. This tends to be a tricky advantage since we all can’t know each and every blogger’s site has plenty of traffic to trade. So be sure you have someone who is more of the IT wiz or savvy with the traffic exchange rating between sites is worth doing. Otherwise, you might have to reject back linking with the guest blogger.

Guest blogging has been useful and beneficial to almost everyone. You can find them by various ways. Try any blog network sites; forums, social networks, chat boxes, search engines on other similar blogs, etc to find these probloggers or any ordinary blogger to be your guest blogger. Now sometimes, guest bloggers would rather get paid to blog on your blogsite before posting a few articles for you. It can be negotiable between you and the guest blogger. But be careful with whatever terms and conditions they’re asking for. Sweet deals are the deals of the devil, says the honest salesperson.

Plan and simple, yes you want to guest blog, but you want to be picky about the sites you are guest blogging on. I say this because you want to make sure your blogging on a site that is actually going to help you get target traffic to your site. You don’t want to waste time and energy creating a blog post on say SEO (which is your specialty) on a blog that is dedicated to preserving Barbie. The point of guest blogging is that it is a win win for the webmaster and the guest blogger.

I am sure that you are not really interested in what guest blogging does for the webmaster at this point. You want to know what it is in it for you. That is the focus on this post. So here we go, the first benefit of guest blogging is that you get instant exposure to your blog. Let’s say that you just launched a new site that you are really excited about and you know offers great benefit to visitors. You want traffic now, not in a few weeks or months. Find an authority site or other site that is reputable in your niche, contact the webmaster and offer to guest blog for them. You blog post will offer informative content and a plug about you and your website.

The second benefit is that exposure you gain. If you don’t have a business that you are trying to promote, but skills you want to offer to hire… guest blogging can help you there as well. When you guest blog on a site, as I said above, you get to do a little blurb about you and what you do, and from there you can direct people to a place where they can learn more about you.

The third benefit and reason as to why you should try to guest blog is that you get a link back to your blog. We have talked in the past about how important back linking is. This is a great way to increase your rankings with links from reputable sites.

Notice that I have mentioned reputable sites. You want to look for sites that have a good ranking, because you know that they are getting traffic. You also know that they are getting crawled by the spiders on a routine basis and that what they say on that website is trusted by people in the niche you are addressing. You don’t want to waste your time blogging on a site that isn’t getting more traffic then you currently are, or worse yet, they are not getting traffic at all.

There are a few rules that you need to keep in mind in regards to your posts. You want to make sure that your post fits into the category of blog you are posting on. Remember, Barbie isn’t going to care much on how to SEO optimize. The blog post that you create must be original and unique. You can’t post an article that you wrote and posted elsewhere.

Also, we are talking about your reputation so you really want to post only articles that you have written. If you are going to farm out the blog posts writing then make sure that you have proofed what is said in the article. The last thing in the world you want to do is make yourself look bad or the website you are guest blogging on.

Finally, when you guest blog if you are going to use a link in your post, it must be a link that is related to the website you are writing for. You should NOT use your own affiliate links. This is just poor taste and not only will the webmaster kick you to the curb, it will get around in the industry that “type” of person you are and you will have a hard time getting another guest blogging spot.

Looking for ways to increase the number of visitors to your Travel Blog? Consider Guest Blogging. I've shared my Top Tips for using guest blogging to your advantage and to increase your audience.

Like many other types of social networking, Guest Blogging exposes you (in a good way, not that “scare-the-kids-and-get-carted-off-to-jail-in-handcuffs” kind of way) to the readers of the travel blog hosting your article, thereby helping to grow your audience.

In the process, by promoting (on your travel blog) your Guest Blog Post that’s been published on the other travel blog, you’re letting your readers know about that site and helping them to grow their audience as well. It’s a ‘win/win’ for both of you.

A good quality Travel Blog should – at the very least – give guest bloggers a link back to the guest blogger’s travel blog as part of the article’s meta data (author info at the end of the post), and often they will allow additional guest blogger info such as a photo, a biography, and social media links so that you can get new Twitter followers and/or Facebook friends and fans.

Tips for being a Good Guest Blogger: If you’ve been invited (or are offering) to submit a guest blog post, be sure to do the following:

Do your homework – read some of the posts of the travel blog you’d like to write for to get a feel for what types and styles of articles they normally publish. If they have guidelines for submitting articles, read them;

Ask if the blog owner has a specific topic in mind for your Guest Blog Post, and offer a couple of topic suggestions in case they don’t or are just open to ideas;

Ask how many words they would like, and if they’d like you to provide images as well (be sure that the images are your own or are royalty-free);

Understand that your blog host may do some light editing (usually only styles such as bolding and italicizing words and phrases, adding paragraph breaks, etc) but if they do wind up correcting things such as spelling and grammar, be grateful – it keeps you looking good!;

Tips for being a Good Guest Blog Host: If you’ve invited someone to submit a guest blog post to your travel blog, try to keep this advice in mind:

If you have a specific story topic or perspective you’d like, say so. If not, be open to suggestions;

Keep your readers in mind – what would interest them? Realize that sometimes it’s good to break out of your normal realm;

Try to keep your copyediting to a minimum – after all, every travel writer has their own ‘voice’ and you don’t want to stifle that;

DO make corrections if you find spelling or grammar errors – you want your guest bloggers to look good to your audience – but it’s nice to ask beforehand if your guest blogger minds such edits;

Incentivize guest bloggers! Give them the ability to draw readers to their own travel blogs by displaying a link to their site in your post meta section, and if your WordPress Theme has an Author Template (author.php) use it to your guest blogger’s advantage by including their photo, bio, and additional links;

The Travel Blogger community is one of the strongest and most supportive out there, and a Guest Blogger relationship benefits both the guest blogger and the hosting travel blog, so take advantage of any invitation that you receive to submit a guest blog post to other travel blogs or travel related website. In addtion, you should also be actively seeking such opportunities, and offering to write for other travel blogs as well.

Whether your objective is business promotion, search engine optimization or good old fashioned journal keeping, the blog is still where it’s at. That’s all very well if you’ve already got a captive audience through a personal website or business, but how do you find new readers, and most importantly; keep the old ones?

<div style=”display:block;float:right;margin: 5px 5px 5px 5px;”>

Pay-per-download (or install) is another option. This generally works by giving away a free piece of software. Every piece of software that gets downloaded from your site makes you money.

Pay-per-impression is another great method to monetize your blog. You get paid every time someone comes to your blog. Generally you don’t get paid much. However, if you can draw a lot of traffic to your blog, you can make some pretty decent profits.

Seriously consider advertising your own product. If you have an e-book that you have written, have rights to or a physical product that is related to your blog, make sure that advertise it.

CPA or cost per action programs are another option. These are essentially lead generation programs. These tend to be very popular in the insurance and mortgage industry. You simply get your visitor to provide their contact information and then you get paid per lead. These actually pay pretty good and the money can add up really fast if you can get targeted traffic.

Selling blog reviews can also be lucrative. You can either write the review yourself for someone else’s product or web site or you can have them right it themselves. You will place the review on your blog for a fee. The amount of money they you will be able to charge, will be will dependent on how many visitors you average. The more visitors that average, the more money you can charge.

Participating in forums related to your niche can be a great way to build your reputation and sell products. However, there is a specific way that you should go about doing this. If you join a forum and immediately begin trying to advertise your product or service, you will quickly get shot down and branded as a spammer. This is no way to do business, and it won’t be beneficial at all. Instead, you want to adhere to the following guidelines. They include being helpful, having something to say, being honest, forging partnerships, being consistent, giving away something free and always create a signature link. We’ll talk a little more about each of these guidelines below.

Be helpful: You want to be seen as a valuable resource in a forum and not as someone that is looking to make money. So if you come across a post where an individual is struggling with something that you are familiar with, offer to help them. Give them advice, point them to good resources. They will be very thankful and the other readers of the post will notice that you are knowledgeable on the subject and you almost instantly, become a mini expert.

Have something to say: Don’t only give two word posts like “thank you,” “me too” or are “too bad.” If you ever try to sell a product, you better believe that some people will go back and look at your posts and see what type of things you have contributed to the forum. If all of your posts consisted of two word answers, this will discredit you.

Be honest.: If someone asks you to give a review of a product or service, be tactful but be honest. If you are not honest and give a glowing review for a bad product, you will damage your reputation. If someone goes ahead and buys the product or service and it sucks, you will look bad.

Forge partnerships: Develop relationships with other people on the forum. This will help when you are a looking to launch a product of your own. You will have people that can vouch for your integrity, your skills and your work ethic.

Be consistent: Don’t post one-time, and then don’t come back for three months. If you can’t get on the forum everyday, get on there at least once or twice a week.

Give away something free: if you find a really good resource or if you have a product that you have written or that you have free rights to, if you think it will benefit people on a specific forum, give it away. This will endear them to you and will make them much more willing to spend money on a product or service that you advertise down the line.

Create a signature link: This is a simple link that advertises some type of a product or service that you are selling. It will show up every time you make a post.

Advertise: In forums, there is generally a place where you can advertise. Make sure to advertise in it. If you have followed the above guidelines and have contributed to the forum you should have no problem. If you are new to a forum, consider giving the forum members a big price break on your product or service. Maybe even give a few products away for free, so that you can get some feedback and testimonials.

These are all ways to build your reputation at forums. If followed, they will help you sell more products and make more money.

Many Internet marketers don’t go the extra step to legalize their business and get the appropriate licensing. Some people may see this as a huge hassle and an extra expense. When they choose not to do so, they put themselves personally at risk. Now, every Internet marketer may not find it necessary to license their business. If an individual just makes a few extra bucks online, then it may not be worth the hassle, time or money. However, if an individual is earning a lot of money, then they may want to consider getting all of the appropriate business licenses and incorporating their company.

Being incorporated and operating as a business, allows individuals to protect their personal assets. If an individual provides a service and something goes wrong, they cannot be sued personally if they are doing business through a corporation. This can be a very important step in protecting one’s family, their money and their other assets.

It is also beneficial because it helps you keep your personal and professional lives separate. When you really treat your business like a business, then you need to a get a separate bank account, keep separate records and credit cards. Individuals who don’t separate their business from their personal affairs may find things getting very muddled. It will be hard to tell where the income is actually coming from.

Keeping your business separate and acting as a business entity is very beneficial when it comes to tax time. If you have an incorporated business with a separate bank account and different credit cards, it is much easier to figure out how much money you spent on advertising or supplies. You also can figure out your income easier. This really helps what is time to pay your taxes. It will be easier to file. It also gives you an opportunity to see just how well business has performed. Did you make a profit? Was there a loss? If you have business and you incurred a loss in a particular year, this will benefit you come tax time. However, if your loss is grouped and with your other income, you may actually end up making money, when you add your income from other sources. Subsequently, you will end up paying a lot more in taxes then necessary.

In many cases, it’s a good idea for individuals to follow the proper channels in order to make their online business official and legal. This may include incorporating the business or making sure that it is licensed within the state and city that it is operated in. This can help individuals protect their personal assets, keep their finances separate and will also make things much easier when it comes time to file for taxes.

The thought of designing a web site can be very scary for many people. However, there really is no need to worry. There are some good options for either designing a web site oneself or outsourcing the task. The best options include using templates, outsourcing the project, taking some type of classes or purchasing a book that will teach you the web design skills that you need.

The first option, using templates, is really pretty easy. You simply go to your favorite search engine like Google and type in keywords like “free web-site templates” or “free HTML templates”. You will have to spend some time going through the web sites, finding and downloading web sites that you think would be a good fit for you and the product that you are promoting. After this, you simply need to download or purchase a basic web site editor and make the necessary changes. If you’re not sure how do this, the software with typically have a F.A.Q. section with frequently asked questions or it will have a help feature. You simply type in your question, or related keywords and you will be given a set of instructions. You may also want to use the Internet. You will be able to find answers to many of y our questions this way.

You can also outsource the building of your website. Places like Elance, Get A Freelancer or even Internet marketing forums, are good places to find people that are both affordable and can do a good job. Make sure that you take a close look at their history and check to see if they have a reputation for doing good work.

Lastly, you can take some classes or purchase a book that will teach you various web design skills. You can find and take classes at a local college, online or you may even purchase an e-book or two that explains how to use a particular software.

A website is necessary for most Internet marketers, especially ones that are serious about building a business. While the thought of web design can be a little intimidating, it doesn’t have to be. If you find that you need a website right away, go ahead and outsource it. If you have a little time, then you may want to find a good template and practice on manipulating it. If you learn to make the necessary changes yourself, you will never have to worry about outsourcing your web building again (unless of course you want to).

Many internet marketers don’t realize that there are ways to earn money without selling an actual product. If they are aware that there are available methods, they generally think that this refers to earning money with Adsense or some similar company. While Adsense can be an effective way to make money without selling a product, there are really great options available. Three types of programs which allow you to earn in this manner include pay-per-impression programs, pay-per-install programs and giveaway offers such as Trial Pay.

For those who are new to this, or those who are established but need serious, effective structure to their business, SiteSell is one of the very best. Highly recommended.

Pay-per-impression is a very easy way to make extra cash because the only thing they you need to do is drive traffic to your website. You don’t have to convince anyone to make purchase and they don’t have to click on any links. They simply have to visit your web page. As a result, the quality of traffic that you receive doesn’t even necessarily have to be good. You just need to be able to attract people who are interested in viewing your web site. If you have a large, informational site, you can increase your significantly improve your earnings. There are different pay-per-impression programs. If you type in “pay-per-impression affiliate programs” in a search engine, such as Google, Yahoo or MSN, you should be able to find a few good companies.

Pay per install is another program that allows marketers to make money without actually selling a product. It involves getting people to download a piece of software. This may include things such as screensavers. In exchange for you getting people to do this, you get paid per installation. Zangocash.com is an eample. These types of programs generally pay pretty good and can make you money really fast.

Trial Pay. This is a company that allows individuals to give away their own product for free. If the consumer agrees to sign up for an available offer, they get the product free and you get paid from Trial Pay. Consumers get to choose the offer that they are interested in. Offers range from signing up for Blockbuster movies to signing up to get care insurance quotes. Trial Pay combines CPA and giveaway offers. You are essentially getting paid from Trial Pay to give away your product. You are getting paid by the company to get people to try their trial offers. This is basically incentivized CPA.

These are three great ways to make money without actually selling anything. In many cases, you are giving away something free, as is the case with pay-per-install and trial pay. Pay-per- impression pays you every time someone visits your web site. All of these are simple programs to implement and are free to join.
