A while back I wrote an article on Putting objects in your Mouth. Well due that surgery I had I found out the hard way that I am now prone to small bowel obstructions. The scar tissue that was developed from the operation can cause this. Well it happened to me Friday night, I wrestled in pain for 12 hours before going to the emergency room. I knew in my mind it was inevitable but I did not want to because I knew what one of the procedures was going to be and I was not looking forward to it. The NG tube. If you have ever had an NG tube inserted in you then you know about the pain I am talking about. The pain of it going down and also the pain of it irritating your throat and the constant swallowing that comes with it. But it is necessary pain that you endure to relieve the severe pain that brought you to the hospital in the first place.

Well I endure 5 days of IV’s sticking prodding and tests but I did avoid another surgery, The blockage cleared on it’s on. I was lucky this time. I will be changing my diet. I found out that any type of seed products like peanuts, sesame seeds , etc can cause a blockage if you have scar tissue in your intestines. I almost fell out the hospital bed when the nurse said peanuts, because that was the last thing I ate before the pain began.

Well I am home and recuperating from my ordeal and doing ok, still sore in the tummy and tired but otherwise fine. I will be back to blogging in a few days after I am feeling better.

Talk to you soon

Larry
