I can’t but agree with this statement. Visitors and Pagerank are like the chicken and the egg. But no need to find out which one was first. If you have an egg, nurture it, cherish it, and it will bring you a chicken, which will then over time bring you more eggs, and chickens, and roosters. Wait, no, let’s not go down that road now

Visitors are No.1 – no doubt – certainly not in my mind. We’ve looked at this before in various posts, which you may have seen: http://clubblogger.com/the-right-way-to-get-people-clamoring-to-read-your-blog/

The issue is that the number of visitors helps Page Rank, and the Page Rank helps the number of visitors Bottom line: if the blog has good content, is well written and adds value for its readers, it will self-promote. Sometime, for various technical reasons, it needs a little help. We’ve also covered that, too, in our archives and will be returning to the topic.

Mitch – thanks, yes, it all depends on perception, here. As I know you know, the number of visitors, links and PageRank are all closely linked. Particularly in, for example, the algorithms of Google in terms of how it ranks pages and, accordingly, effectively how many visitors a site/blog gets. All the best,

It's interesting you wrote this post because on another blog the author recently asked the question of which a person might prefer, page rank or more visitors, and of course it came down on more visitors. Yet, as you've stated, one of those ways to get those folks is to obtain more links in some fashion, hoping folks will follow those links back to you. Nice job.
