Sadly, of the thousands of children born every year in India with congenital heart defects, most will not receive any treatment… because they cannot afford the steep cost of heart health care.

Heart surgery is expensive. Heart birth defects are often fatal without it. Many patients from poor families cannot afford the cost of treatment. So Dr.Mani decided to try and help sponsor the operations.

The problem was how to do it.

The event is widely supported by thousands of people. Many make donations (over $120,000 has been raised over the last 6 years). The money was used to fund life-saving heart surgery in 26 children, with many more to come. See this site for details.
